Honda unveils New Small Car

Honda Siel cars India today unveiled the Honda New Small car concept in a press conference at 10th Auto Expo 2010. The Honda New Small Concept is a concept model of the upcoming Honda Small car in India to which Honda Motors is especially developing for emerging markets like India. In addition to the New Small Car Concept Honda is also exhibiting the CR-Z Concept 2009, a concept model for a new hybrid model, which was unveiled for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009.Addressing to media during an official press conference Mr. Koichi Kondo, Executive Vice President and Representative Director, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. said, “We are delighted to unveil the Honda new Small Car Concept at the 10th Auto Expo. India has been the hub for the compact car segment and is also the lead country for our research and development work on the new Small car concept. The new model based on this concept will be a global car with features to suit the needs of Indian customers. We plan to launch this car by year 2011.”
The new CR-Z Concept 2009is the world’s first hybrid vehicle equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Togeather with a 1.5-leter i-VTEC engine the vehicle will create completely new value by combining the fun of driving and outstanding fuel economy. The new dedicated hybrid vehicle will be equipped with a newly developed lightweight and compact IMA (integrated motor assist) system. CR-Z Concept 2009 will join the Insight and Civic Hybrid in the Honda hybrid lineup. The CR-Z Concept 2009 will break the ground s a sporty, hybrid coupe with unique value.
Adding spunk and the glamour to the Honda booth is the ‘The Honda Jazz corner’ showcasing Mugen fitted Honda Jazz in Trendy colors. The Jazz has ben displayed in 3 colors – Jaz Sports in yellow, Jazz Music in White and Jazz Holiday in Blue color at the auto expo.

Three models of Honda Jazz were displayed at the Expo including Jazz Sports, Jazz Music and Jazz gateway. Jazz sports had bright color combination that gave it a sporty feel. For the music lovers, Jazz music blends exteriors filled with notations, symbols and music related accessories. As quoted by Honda's officials Jazz gateway takes one to a rare experience to a place that one always wants to retreat to.
The existing product lineage of Honda Motors includes Honda jazz, Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, Honda Civic and Honda City, all leading their respective segments. Before the financial year of 2011-12 Honda Siel promises to launch its small segment car code-named 2CV built on the platform of Honda Jazz. Specifically designed for the Indian market, the car would be priced between 4-4.5 Lakhs.
